Youngest is a real daddys girl..........eldest is usually a mummys girl but she's gone right off me at the mo lol. I don't mind if I'm not flavour of the month .... am just fed up that he didn't stick to his side of the bargain........ I ALWAYS back him up.......even if I dont agree........we have words out of their earshot if that happens but I never overrule him in front of the kids.xx

Muffy, it is very difficult to carry out a punishment but good on you - your children will turn out the better for it! I have sat and cried when I have told son he couldn't have something or go somewhere, but I knew I had to carry it through.

Give your OH a slap and tell him not to do it again ;-)

It is also teaching your children the value of money. Which is very important. They cannot grow up in the world thinking that everything comes to them on a plate.

I will fess up now

When I was about 12, I asked my mum if I could go out...she said no,

Asked Dad, he said, 'what did mum say'

I said, 'she told me to ask you'

He said, 'oh alright then you can go'

Later, when I was about to leave, mum said, 'where do you think you are going? I said no!'

I said, 'But dad said I could go...'

Obviously they got together on that later, and I was in a lot of trouble LOL. They've never let me forget either.
