yeah, just don't like the way it looks when you have to leave the expansion space.

leave the boards down - put underlay over them then laminate - sand the skirting down and repaint :) sorted.

~Summer Scribe~ Report 5 Apr 2008 00:00

Yup, confirmed, council are responsible for skirting *sighs* Don't have time to wait for written permission...so white gloss it is!

We won't have time to have the paintbrush party, I'm afraid, time is too much of the essence. I did however, try to get a nice young man to be a stripper for me tonight LOL.

I have an uncertain dilemma. With the laminate flooring I was going to just take out the old skirting boards, put the flooring down and put new ones over. However, the booklet I've just been reading says that as an introductory tenant I have to have permission for improvements/alterations/repairs I'm now thinking that I can't do what I wanted to. *frets*

Have to phone electric, gas and water. Then BT & broadband people.

The debate between carpet and laminate has been raging LOL. I was going to go with carpet to take the strain off my wonderful brother, but just when I'd decided that, mum mentioned to him and he said if I wanted laminate that he would do it. He's worked his bottom off on the bungalow for mum and dad, we'd have been so stuck without him.

Hi Liz,

thanks hun, didn't see you last night so figured you weren't around til later/early. In the end I gave mum money towards her sofabed fund, a coaster with "worlds greatest 60 year old" on it (would have been a mug but she was less likely to use that) and a little tin watering can that she can put her sofabed fund money in...when she's got it she can use it for watering little house plants LOL. She collected £150 towards the sofabed so a pretty good haul. Just got back from the works birthday party for her and they've done her one of their uniform T-shirts with her name and 60 embroidered on front and then all of them have signed it. Was a good evening and I was chatting up one of the boys ;-)

I like that sort of green, but we just did something similar in mum & dad's current one so I was thinking of pale yellow.

Am going for laminate flooring throughout (except kitchen and bathroom).

I signed the tenancy today and now have

KEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yippee yiyay :-) I have to move in by the 14th, so lots of hard work to do this week. I might not be around much LOL.

I only just saw this, doh, saw Daff's 4 good things thread and had to hunt for this, I am so chuffed for you Liz.
Have lots of fun decorating and stuff.

I bet your Mum's birthday was absolutely brill and the best day to get the news. What did you buy her in the end?

There is a lovely shade of minty green, sort of very pale jade that looks really clean and crisp in kitchens. I suggested it to son's girlfriend, now ex, and she did it and it looked lovely.
