I only gave the paperwork to my Doctors surgery yesterday for him confirm that I still have the same condition as 2 years ago! What a palaver!

The paperwork was supposed to be sent back in February - so I am very late, but surely it does not matter as people are applying for passes all the time.

Surely our old passes are still valid until we have a new one - I certainly hope so as I go to work 4 days a week and cannot afford the bus fares on my part time pittance. LOL

In Liverpool penshioners have been able to travel on the bus train and boat free for years.while i was visiting Liverpool last year i asked the bus driver if his bus went to the Pier Head,he said yes love jump on. So i jumped on ha ha,it was a touring bus, on a notice it said £4 50 for penshioners. When i pointed this out to the driver he said,if the inspector gets on,just start singing and act daft and i will just say i think your lost.it could only happen in Liverpool So if all you penshioners want a good day out and a good laugh get yourselves to Liverpool its agreat place

Good Morning All,

Aren't they wonderful. In London I have had free travel on tubes, buses and trains for years and renewed at my local Post Office. I really couldn't afford to travel the way I do if I had to pay a full fare.

From now I can visit my relatives in Norfolk, Wiltshire and Devon and travel free on their local buses.

Viva the Freedom Pass lol.

Jean x.

It is worth pointing out that Bus Travel is not free. It is funded partly by the government but mainly by your local council. So effectively you pay for it via your Council Tax. The more people use it the more your Tax will increase.
Councils in holiday regions will be particularly badly hit financially in the summer when people visit and take advantage of the scheme.

An interesting point, if you are going on a rail journey, Does the rail company know which councils allow free rail travel and those that do not so reducing the cost of travel?
