Don't go to A&E, they are busy enough with Accidents and Emergencies!

Your body is doing exactly as it should do if you have a bit of an infection, fighting it for you!

Plenty of fluids, an analgesic, and rest, and you should feel better. If not, then it's the Doc's on Tuesday.

Get well soon xxx

Colin Lol!!!

Hayley, Do you also feel unwell with it? Sounds like a throat infection, swollen glands are just doing their job, fighting it. how drinks and paracetamol. If it gets worse and you begin to feel really unwell call NHS direct and ask them. i wouldn't go to A&E unless it becomes really necessary, as Dee says they are so busy, you will be there all day and feel worse than before you went.

Usually, (and I haven't read the rest of the thread) swollen glands means you have picked up an infection, not necessarilyof the glands, that is just your body reacting to it and fighting it. It's often the first symptom of some sort of viral infection like a cold. This could affect all the glands in the neck, though usually only the ones under the jaw, and can even affect the armpits.

~Summer Scribe~ Report 23 Mar 2008 13:03

Aww poor Hayley. (((hugs))) I almost constantly have swollen glands, for me it's a symptom of the FM.

You definitely don't need to go to A & E no matter how grotty you might feel from it. Lots of warm drinks, some paracetamol (if you can take it) and rest. Only if you find you can't breathe or swallow properly, or develop a rash, should you consider A&E. As has been said, swollen glands are a sign that your immune system is doing its job and launching a response to an infection. If you have a healthy immune system you'll probably find you're feeling better by Tuesday but if you're not then make an appointment with your GP.

((((Hugs)))) feel better soon babes
