Just been reading about an elderly couple in Newcastle who kept the hair they gathered from grooming their now deceased pedigree dogs and had them made into jumpers. That is so icky

i added to this David, as i saw it on the news and was very intersted in the topic, i could see where the people were coming from,

I look at the post, not the person who posted, because that would be immature, to respond to a post we are intersted in shows intellectual interest,

Silly Sausage Report 19 Mar 2008 21:38

I got an email once complete with picture....

It was about these 10 guys who when it was one of their birthdays they used to do something different on trips and always play tricks on one and other I cant remeber some of the things they did but this one..

They hired a fishing boat for the day. A little in too the trip they gave him cards to open and his birthday thing was to wear a false beard and tash....the day went on and after a few hours and beers more fun later the guy couldn't belive he had got off so lightly and make a comment to his friends about it. when they all dropped their trousers and he noticed that not one of them had any ***** hair left.......when he asked why they had done that.....they said " you have a real good think about your present!!!!!!

No need to apologise but I imagined you were more competent with language than to give such an impression in error, Muffy. We could probably do without the kisses though.

Kay, I've just told oh that when's he karked it I'm going to have him stuffed and sat in the window. I'm assured I'd notice a difference....

Rox, that sort of thing's ok though isn't it. But a poodle sweater???? Mind, I do wonder how many people know what animals the 'fake' fur on their coats comes from these days cos a lot of it is from dogs and cats abroad isn't it:((

Roxanne

Roxanne Report 19 Mar 2008 22:01

Oh God!! dont get me started on fur,David!!:-((

The majority of fur trims classed as fake,is actually real cat/dog fur from China!
Its barbaric and if you had seen some of the videos I have seen you would vomit!

I can and never will understand anyone buying fur.
If people want fake fur they should make sure its from a good company, dont BUY CHEAP FAKES there probably cats and dogs.

I was in a second-hand bookshop a couple of years ago and found a book entitled 'Knitting from your Cat',(or Dog or Pet can't exactly remember the proper title).......

I couldn't believe my eyes!

But yes....it's true. You can,(apparently),knit from your pets fur!!

Wish I'd bought the book, although I don't like the sound of it myself!

It's that people don't know that bugs me Rox. I'm not anti fur really but it's the cruelty that can be involved I don't like.

Oh Sandra stop it already lol. I am cringeing!!

We used to save the brushed fur from our Keeshond dog in the 60s as there was a lady on the Isle of Wight who spinned (span?) it into wool. No, we didn't wear any of the results, lol! The poodle sweaters looked very practical but no marks on the sartorial front!
