~Summer Scribe~ Report 20 Feb 2008 00:10

Hayley, I thought we had sorted the Bamber thing out but can't remember what we agreed now lol.

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 20 Feb 2008 00:12

We decided Mary Bamber was either widowed or a trollop.....as the youngest son John wilde Bamber...

by 1851 James abt 1828 was married to his first wife and I have Mary Bamber Ann Wilde and John wilde bamber in the 1851 census.....

Droylseden is sort of the next Town....Audenshaw Hooley Hill is more like them....or Denton ....good job I know the area isnt it...lol

~Summer Scribe~

~Summer Scribe~ Report 20 Feb 2008 00:18

Well it said she was single not widowed so I think she was a trollop lol.

Gawd, it's like they conspired to make your life difficult

I suspect that Mary Bamber is James' sister but by a different father, would that fit?

Susan719813

Susan719813 Report 20 Feb 2008 00:22

I thought the S was in the where born column SS.....didnt have married or single in the 1841????

There is another family there.....William age 40.....loads of children living with him, one age 25 and 2 age 6...she may be from that one

~Summer Scribe~

~Summer Scribe~ Report 20 Feb 2008 00:23

lol Hayley it's good to know your areas.

Why is it that these parish registers are so hard to read except for where it declares "a bastard" lol.

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 20 Feb 2008 00:23

Not really as there would be a 23 age gap.....she is either james 1826/28 mother or Aunt as he names James Wilde (poss 1803 ) on both his marraige certs.....but he could of made it up.......

~Summer Scribe~

~Summer Scribe~ Report 20 Feb 2008 00:23

No Susan the single thing that I was referring to was from a later census from the other night.

~Summer Scribe~

~Summer Scribe~ Report 20 Feb 2008 00:24

Yeh but if his mother had been married before? Do we know what his mother's maiden name was? Had she married before?

~Summer Scribe~

~Summer Scribe~ Report 20 Feb 2008 00:26

If she was James 1828s mum wouldn't he be called Bamber too? More likely aunt or sister.

~Summer Scribe~

~Summer Scribe~ Report 20 Feb 2008 00:26

Or his father's concubine ROFL

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 20 Feb 2008 00:27

dunno ......as the year he was born and the fact he lives in 1841 with grandparents called Wilde I assumed they was his fathers parents....but I have James wilde and Mary bap things with same parents the grandparents..
