dont know about being daft enough to listen to a dummy,but back in 1953 we did a radio programe doing the north skelton sword dance.and they made us dress smartly to do it

Mrs Feather was the first one to do comedy telephone sketches,with only hearing her side of the conversation.
This was on the radio in the 30's and 40's.

A bit like Joyce Grenfell who did that sometimes.

Bob Newhart did this sort of thing later.Another one,Norman Evans who did a sort of Les Dawson thing dressed as a woman (Over the garden wall")

music for Paul Temple I think was Coronation Scot - his wife in it was called Steve - I remember the last line of one episode whe he said to her "Are you alright darling" to which she replied "Yes darling, I'm holding your hand" to which he replied "It's not my hand you are holding!!!!" cue music

No Harry,Did,nt look,as you say "Very happy days".never had to worry about being out late,never argued with the Police( or you got a clip round the ear,and and another one when you got home),and people had respect for each other then. Cod and Chips 9d.or a penorth of Batter Bits.**M**.
