18 weeks to go and we are fed up with people being so negative and complaining about our wedding, We have tried so hard to please everyone, including changing the venue for the reception three times. We have had people complaining about the distance to be travelled, the hotel costing too much (£65.00 per room incl breakfast) and people telling us what cake and flowers we should have. We are now having the reception at Peterborough Greyhound Stadium (thought it would be different!!) and now people are moaning about that. Will be glad when it is all over. We should have just gone away and got married and then come back and told everyone!!

They need to remember how it was for their wedding - did they have people saying this that and the other.

Jackie, it's YOUR wedding day, it should be what and where you want it. It's not up to other people and quite frankly, if they can't be bothered to make an effort for you and be happy for you then they are not worth running around after anyway.

You have YOUR day, and enjoy it. Make it a day for YOU TWO to remember. Tough luck on the others.

here here i agree with what marion says its your special day and your alone dont you worry about anybody else other than yourselves

my oh and i got married 8 weeks after we lost a family member in our family and we came up against so much oposition i told them all in the end either thay can and were happy or they could stay away neadless to say they all came (we had our reception in our house) and a great day was had by all

ps sorry Jackie didn't read who posted.

We are paying for it, including the coach to take everyone to the dogs and back!!

Even had guests telling me what flowers they want in their corsages!! they all want different things.

Now the big debate is whether I should wear my wedding dress to the reception or not. I would go naked but I don't want to frighten the dogs!!

I agree with Jude. Do what YOU want to do - don't bother telling anyone what you're doing or where you're having it - send them an invitation - they can either come or not!!!

In reality it has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else - YOUR wedding, YOUR choice.

I kept mine on all day, about 1am we were driving back to harlow (we had our wedding in Edmonton because of family) there was me squashed in the front seat with full wedding dress when a police car pulled upside ours at the lights..the coppers smiled and waved lol...what a memory !
