we all stopped and took stock of things, When i see good people, long standing members, and friends, say they are staying away and are so disheartened, it makes me so sad and i suppose angry,

we all have differences, we all have folk we dont get on with, or dont like for whatever reason, no-one is perfect, we all have our little faults and bad days, when we want to kick the cat, but civility, good manners and a little thought for others feelings does go a long way you know,

Im not asking for it always to be sunshine and smiles on here, thats impossible, we are all so different, and we each have our own thoughts and views, but how we conduct ourselves can very often diffuse a delicate situation

I have just read that Guinevere is thinking of staying away, and that to me is a huge loss to this board, I call her the " voice of reason " what a loss to us all, these lovely folks dissapearing

Please lets be kind to each other, or if thats not possible agree to disagree and move on

so true and it would be a shame to lose any more. I don't get on with everyone and don't expect everyone to get on with me, but if I see an interesting thread I hope to be able to add to it without any hassle, which to date I have never experienced ( hassle I mean :-)). I have only had one upsetting experience on here which was probably due to my own naivety/inexperience with 'chat' rooms.

Early this morning, for the first time, I felt embarrassed at being a member. Just one person did this, a lady who posted her views early hours this morning, on her own thread. At first I didn't know what to say or think, because much of what she wrote was her view of Gr and threads, which was quite valid. As I had never seen her before, and looking at things through her eyes I felt embarrassed. ( edited slightly in case of misinterpretation :-))

After thinking for some time though, I answered her and hope that I speak for all in what I have written on her thread.

thank you Lynne, I don't come on here uually after 10pm ish so always miss a lot of the hassle. Yes I was watching yesterday evening and feeling a little uncomfortable with the way things seemed to be going but it was not really out of hand when I switched off so don't know if anything happened. i will be really sad if Gwynne doesn't come on here. lovely lady and always so reasonable.

Yes we are not all perfect and we often make mistakes. I've made some lovely friends during my time on this site. Where differences exist.. the boards are big enough to avoid to avoid possible conflicts.

I was saddened last night..................it was a kind of point scoring again.

I agree that these boards are big enough for everyone and have never once had any disagreements with anyone who posted on that thread....................as far as I know they are all valuable members.

It is sad that anyone feels they have to stop posting for any reason..................I sincerely hope they think again and add to the boards as normal.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and viewpoints and we need to learn to respect them even though we can't always agree with what they say.

It is difficult, but not impossible.

Lynn, you are such a sweetie and thanks to my friends for saying nice things.

I'm not in a very happy place right now as you know and I was so saddened and disappointed to see what was happening when I logged in fairly late last night. It made me feel sick, if I'm honest.

I don't know the truth of the matter under discussion but I do know that people suspended for abuse do rejoin with different names and GR seem unable to do anything to stop it. It's something I would never defend, whoever does it, as I've said before many times.

Last night was like watching sharks circling for a feeding frenzy and very disturbing.

I'm bewidered by what the GC/GR community has become and, right now, I neither feel part of it nor want to feel part of it. I have enough unhappiness in my life as it is.

I'm not leaving totally, Lynn, fret not. I'll be here every morning to read your thoughts.
