One of my ancestors had one child with his wife, then died when their daughter was 2 years old. His wife then remarried and had more children with her new husband. |

I would record the later family too with notes to clarify their parentage. |

Children of the later marriage are your blood relations. Therefore they belong on your tree, unless you are only doing direct line i.e only parent, grandparent, great grandparent, and not their siblings. |

Thanks everyone for your replies. My ancestor who died was my 2x great Uncle, so I am including the branches on my tree - cousins etc., not just my direct line.. |
