That John Boffin married Ann Howe, and their marriage record (1872) shows his father's name as Edward.

That would fit Aviegal. He could have moved there with work or a marriage.

Still no proof that he's the right man, but it's a good possibility.

Neither "my" James, nor the one who died, seem to appear anywhere else, so they may well be one and the same.
