I had one more thought - his death cert - it may confirm his birth date - My own grandmother took 5 years of her age when she married but the death cert was correct |

That fits in with the National Roll info on Harry (sorry - Henry!!) which has him living in Sarah St. Salford around 1916/17 ?? |

I searched on Free BMD by just putting in the father's surname, mother's surname and came up with the following - with the unusual maiden name I would think it has to be them |

I searched on George Davison Dairyman in the 1881 census and only came up with one reasonable candidate living in York with his parents and born in there in 1857. However there is no obvious person in later censuses that ties in. |

I wonder if he died pre 1901 and Henry's mother remarried - Henry may come under his mother's new name in the census. Or the couple may never have married |
