Hello, all :-)

Angelica

What a day here! Went to a shopping centre this morning (not our 'walk to one') as we wanted to shop at a specific supermarket. We drove there as it is about 5 kms from here. On the way back, the heavens opened. For a few minutes we could hardly see the bonnet of the car. The wind was really howling. Scary :-0

I never did get to chop the wood :-D :-D :-D

That's if I can break this addiction of talking to you lot :-D :-D :-D
BUT what a very pleasant addiction it is :-) :-) :-)

Hello all :-)

Phone call from daughter last night: Could OH meet her at the garage today (Tuesday) at 7.30 am and then take her to work. Daughter picked up a new car last week (don't ask) and it has been recalled. She could have got the garage to take her, but she doesn't want anyone else driving her shiny, and expensive, new car :-S

Hi Allan :-)

Flying visit tonight as daughter and Granddaughter number 2 are here.

Why has the car been recalled? Have they found a dangerous fault in them?

Hi, Jem :-)

Night, Jude :-)

Yes and no, Jem :-S A fault with the windscreen wipers. Not in itself dangerous, but in the weather we are currently experiencing Yes! :-|

One of the Hotels in Bunbury had its roof blown off at the height of the storm :-0 :-D :-D

Probably easily fixed then Allan. :-)

Hope you've had no damage to your property?

Nashi fruit

Not really. A few damp patches near the front door where the wind forced the rain through. I'll seal those areas once the wood dries out. A few branches down, but those are on medium sized bushes, and the garden generally is looking a mess. Some people, particularly in the Busselton/Margaret River Region have had significant damage to their properties

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 7 Jul 2014 23:36

Is that because of being in a coastal position? or was it more inland?

Orange Marmalade

Allan

Allan Report 7 Jul 2014 23:47

Mainly coastal, but inland, trees are down. The Collie River, which flows down from the hills has broken its banks. Fortunately, nobody is permitted to build in the flood plain so although there is extensive flooding, which looks quite spectacular, there is no damage :-)
