Totally; in fact given that the whole Senate set-up is now a farce, the whole senate set-up should be looked at. As Australia has Preferential Voting, not first past the post, it is possible for someone to be elected when their primary vote can be as low as 10%. That's what is happening with Clive Palmer (Google him). The only thing bigger than his belly is his mouth :-| :-|

I don't pretend to be hugely knowledgeable about politics, but what you said about the voting system doesn't sound fair.
I read that your Tony Abbott accused him of trying to buy seats.

Tony Abbot is spot on and, no, Mr palmer did not build Stonehenge, he modelled for it :-D :-D :-D

Strangely, in Local Government Elections it is first pas the post. The candidate with the most votes wins. However with State and Federal Elections we have Preferential voting
