Good Morning Allan :-)

Did you have a good time in Freemantle?

Allan Report 22 Mar 2014 22:16

Hi, Jem :-)

Yes, we did, thank you. We didn't go directly to Fremantle but stayed in Perth for an hour or so, as OH wanted to see the Catholic Cathedral which in recent years had reconstruction works completed. Some of the reconstructions were started in the 1930's but money ran out. It wasn't until the 2000's that a substantial bequest meant that the work could be completed.

Fremantle was as enjoyable as ever, but it was hot! All in all a long day but an enjoyable one :-)

I'm glad you both had a good time. How was the train journey?

Boring! it was dark when we started, and dark when we finished. As the Railway follows the road alignment (or vice versa) we know the route extremely well, so it doesn't hold any excitement for us :-(

oh well- at least you had a good day once there! :-D

I had to go to school by train, as buses didn't come through our village then, because the roads weren't wide enough.

And I'm going to call it a day. I'm still tired from yesterday, and also I have a germ of an idea for a very short story following my recent visit to the doctor's (pun intended ;-) :-D). I'll thrash it out this morning.

Sleep well, Jem :-)

Hi Allan :-) :-)

Yes I've had a pleasant weekend tinged with a little sadness. My mother died 10 years ago yesterday. I visited the grave in the little town that she grew up in after the family left Kent today.
Then I visited my 1st cousin who lives nearby. I haven't seen her in years. I had a really lovely welcome and we talked and talked (not hard for me nor her either it seems!- OK! yes I know! :-D :-D)
She was fascinated by my huge file of documented family history of our shared Grandparents and has kept it to show her father. I must say that I now have the heebie-jeebies at having left my work of a few years!

How has your story writing gone? Did it GERMINATE? :-D :-D :-D
