How is Esperance?

Allan

Allan Report 28 Feb 2014 21:45

Hi, Jem. :-)

I'll have to think Caerphilly about your question, but I'll go with cheese :-D

Corned Beef

As a town I don't really like Esperance. No doubt once all the works are done it will be very pleasant, but at the moment it's not just the foreshore but most of the roads are closed and are being replaced or rerouted.

Having said that, yesterday, once we located the Church, we drove to Pink lake, which was not pink, just shades of white (salt) and bluish water. The coast line, however is magnificent, and the sea is a deep blue/green. Beautiful! Particularly with the backdrop of the Recherché Archipelago

AH- WRONG! :-D :-D
CAWL.... Traditional Welsh Stew with potatoes, leeks, lamb and vegetables. Now usually served with bread and cheese (caws) it can be Caerphilly I suppose! :-D :-D

Dunking Bread (for the Cawl :-D)

How did your wife's choir do? I bet they sounded wonderful with the acoustics in a church!

Allan

Allan Report 28 Feb 2014 22:01

They've not sung Yet. Tonight at six is the first time and that will be followed by supper, Then tomorrow morning for the nine am Mass, so OH has to be there for eight to rehearse.

Most of the Catholic churches in the SW of WA appear to be of modern, and identical design. Not really surprising as there is only one firm of Architects in Perth who seem to do all the design work. Churches are usually roundish with halls opening off the main church area, so that they are all very practical. Acoustics are OK but the positioning of most of the churches I've been to are outstanding. Usually on a hill with commanding views.

I forget that churches in Australia haven't got the age of British ones. But they seem well thought out. I hope it goes well for them. Have you got any plans for today?

Hopefully heading of to Cape La Grand this morning. Some churches have age. Si Nicholas in Australind for example, repute to be the smallest church in Australia. Google it :-)
