How do you control your diabetes Allan? Do you need insulin or is it diet regulated? |

At the moment, just diet and exercise. Hopefully I can keep it that way |

Your walks should help. Glad it's under control. Not a nice thing to have! What is the correct terminology- Condition? Illness? |

I've heard it referred to by several different terms. I think that disease is the correct one, but it is commonly called a chronic condition. I feel sorry for people who have type 1, especially the young ones :-( |

When I was a voluntary helper (I helped children with their reading) in my Grandson's school, there was a little girl with diabetes. She had to wear a small box-like monitor to check her sugar levels. |

No I don't , Jem. I was diagnosed 15 years ago and have just become lazy about my own testing. When first diagnosed my BS levels were all over the shop, but they now appear to have stabilised. I do like to eat at regular times, particularly in the evenings. When I was working and the social club went out for a meal we often wouldn't get served until well after 9.00pm which didn't help |
