Custard

Jem, there's a world of difference between doing work for others and doing it for your own group, especially as nearly all the ceremonial work tomorrow is undertaken by myself. I know all the local groups who will be there, but I've crossed swords with this chap from Perth at last years do :-| :-0 :-( :-(

I think I remember! Wasn't he rude to you in public?

You sound very stressed about it all Allan! Try and shut off from thinking about him as much as possible. I know it's easier said than done.

It'll be over soon!

Dandelion and Burdock

Camomile Tea- Now that might help a bit!

I'm not teasing btw. I know this is important to you!

Or- Bach Rescue Remedy! That's brilliant!

I am a bit stressed, Jem. I'll be OK once it starts, but this is the first time that I've done the whole thing :-)

Whilst I wont be drinking at the dinner, except for water, I will have a large Scotch when I get home ;-)

The build up can be worse that the actual event.

I used to do a lot of public speaking- among other things, I was a slimming consultant for 10 years.
It was always the wait for it to start that was the hardest. The adrenaline is flowing, and you can neither fight or take flight. Once I got the first line over with, I would start to relax.

I'm also a great believer in Role Play. I would act that I was confident, and then I would become confident.

Thanks GP :-)

Particularly as the GIW will be there from the opening to the finish. He usually attends but as a member of a lodge. I think that this time it is an 'official' visit.

Allan - I used to find that G officers were a pain in the a@@e at times :-( :-( :-(

This one is GP :-D

I had an argument with him last year over honours for a toast. it turned out I was correct (I had previously been advised by at least two other members of the correct honours)

I got a very half-hearted apology from him as I was leaving, whereas his comments were made at the festive board, in public :-|

Allan - I have witnessed many statements made by these so called high ranking officials and I wonder how they got their honours in the first place. :-( :-( :-(

Strange GP! Not many Country members have active Grand Rank, unless their lodges happen to be in easily travelling distance of Perth.

The remainder of us have past Grand Rank. Mine was conferred two years ago after 24 years. I've known guys in Perth who have active ranks after five years.

Mind you, their fathers all seem to be well placed in the Craft ;-)

Poor Jem will be wondering what this is all about ;-)

Apologies, Jem, for the chatter :-D

I'm off now. I have to help set up the Lodge rooms for tomorrow

Sleep well all :-)

I'm off to bed now Guys :-) :-)

Glad you have someone to talk to who understands these things better than me Allan :-)

So, if it's an evening event, it will be on our Saturday Morning?

If your not on tomorrow Allan, I wish you all the very best. I'm sure you will be a brilliant Director of C!!! You just need to believe in yourself :-) :-)

Hi Allan,
While most Lodges in Newcastle had Grand officers my Lodge never had one
and most Lodges came to our Lodge for instruction which I found a bit strange.
