Secrets about multiple marriages, affairs, people in the poorhouse or mental asylum we really do find some gems. One of my mother's cousins in her 80s flipped when she found out I intended to start looking up ancestors.I know why now, she died some years ago and what they were trying to hide was so silly anyway.

Does sound a bit complicated, we had something similar in our family where my cousin ( who lived with us ,and was considered a brother ) has only just been acknowledged by his mother ,( my aunt ) as her son. He's 67 !!

I'm in touch with my BM half brother, but he doesn,t know I have been in touch with her, I didn't tell him as I needed to tell her first. She has issues with our mother for not telling her about me so until she knew I didn't want to reveal this to him as he has contact with my BM, hope you followed that.
It's a case of loyalty to my half sister that I have kept quite, Oh doesn't this searching get complicated

I don't no the reason, all I do no is it has left me wondering why, I just wish she had at least said she no longer wanted to stay in touch, even if she hadn't given a reason

Sounds like she had second thoughts about making herself known to your branch of the family Diane if all the messages are gone too.It's unlikely a GR glitch would delete those too.
I have found people I know are related but they refuse to identify themselves because of old family scandals.
