Maybe she thought she might jinx him.Very similar to the gt aunt her's didn't last long 10 years was the longest and she did not marry Mr 4 either.

It explains why we couldn't find her last marriage, from which she had the children - we were looking for the wrong name. She got married in 1855 aged 20, he died a year later. She remarried in 1858 - and 2 years later he was dead too. She was in the 1861 census as a widow, but under her first married name. She had her first child with husband number 3 in 1864, but didn't marry him until 2 years later. Perhaps she didn't trust him to survive!

I have a woman who was married 3 times in my tree Liz she was my grandfather's aunt and doesn't fit the straight laced image of the rest of that branch at all.
