He was sponsered to NZ by the Kent Agricultural Labourers Association. Managed a farm in NZ then had his own farm. |

My GG Grandfather James Hobday, b Kent 1822, died New Zealand 1892 is listed in his death notice as a Crimean veteran. There is a gap in his life during the war years. He could have been army or navy, A search online shows no James Hobday (Hobdy) in the army records. Is there a navy record? |
