My grandfather was a ambulance driver with the Black Watch Highlanders. I would like some more information about him. Thanks

With such a common name, more info is vital.

Date and place of birth. And years of service please.

Have you done ANY research at all?

The people who help on here are all just paying members like yourself .

If you have his medals, can you look on the edge (rim) of the rounded ones and the rear of the star for his Service number. Thank you.

Additionally, parents names/address and any children name/dob would be useful as this information can appear on a Service/Pension record, which can be used to confirm that we have the correct soldier.

Please don’t forget that over 70% of WW1 records simply do not exist - one assumes you refer to WW1. If, however, it’s WW2, you will have to apply for the man’s records, as they will not be online

It pays to be specific. ;-)
