Wondered where Townhill came into it. I see that is where Matthew and Elspith married. Both gave there ages as 19 when they married on 11 November 1872. His father George, a Coal Miner and mother Euphemia (her maiden surname looks something like Bagie?). Elspith parents Richard, a Coal Miner and Agnes maiden surname Geddes.
