Carolina the tablets will do nothing but help you. Once you get use to the idea of taking them, you will stop panicing. Have you heard of Clair Weeks? She writes books about panic, why don't you have a look at your local library or on line. I read one years ago and it was a great help for me.
Now you have the tablets working for you, and your training, to run in run for life. You have made two huge steps to help yourself and it will give you a purpose you are going to get better. xxx

Jules nice to see you, x. Have you got it sorted in your head what you want to say to the doctor? You could make notes to help you remember what you want to say to him. Are you going on your own? Let us know how you get on xxx

Hi Caz, you often turn up just as I am about to go to bed! Hope you aren't in too much pain, hence getting up.

As you can see from my post, I have an apptmt with the MIND people for some counselling which is great after the other people I was waiting to see, let me down and took me off their lists. Had been waiting nearly a year!

Carolina, I am impressed, you were so scared of taking one but you did it, good on you girl. As others have said they will make you sleepy at first but your body needs the rest.

Carole I got a phone call from my psychologist last thing yesterday, she asked to postpone my appointment till tomorrow morning, she had something come up. It wasn't till then that I realised how much I look forward to seeing her. This will be my 9th meeting with her and she is brilliant. I'm so sorry for all of you who has trouble getting to see one, mine was sort of forced on me, turned it down at first, silly me.

Well done Carolina, as they say, keep taking the tablets, it will take a little while for them to get into your system and start doing their job so don't expect miracles overnight and don't go looking for side effects, just treat yourself kindly as things start to improve for you I hope.
Carole, I have wasted a whole year waiting for counselling but hey, guess what? I have my first appointment with the manager of the team who have started this new MIND counselling service, it is on Monday at 4 pm so am quite excited and hopeful. I know how you feel about people moving on and having to start over, explaing and building a relationship again before you can begin to feel helped. It is so frustrating and upsetting, I have travelled that road many times but have a good feeling about this new set up.
Mary, stay safe in the cold and windy weather. It is supposed to snow a bit here in the next few days, just when I have to be driving about, typical!

Good for you Carole - thank goodness you have an understanding husband and thanks to you we have this wonderful thread going which is helping so many - hopefully!! Doesn't this thread show how lacking the services are though - I'm beginning to think we should set up our own website!! Getting carried away now - not far enough I hear you cry!!

Been to see pychologist this afternoon for second appointment, and she tells me she is changing job so I have to see another woman. Disappointed cos have to start again. Not back for a month as they are moving to a new building. So it will be about 18 months since I first went to my doctor and started to tell him about my problem. No wonder people take their own life is there? I'm a lot better now have managed to pick my self up with help of husband and very suportive friends at work.

good on you Carolina - and going to bed was the right thing to do - first step is the biggest and you've done it now - make sure you carry on sweetheart - you are very brave indeed and we are all rooting for you, and for everyone else too!!

Sweet dreams, Ann XX
