Fi - agree with Carole - you should not just stop taking them - not just like that - withdrawing from mediction has to be done gradually and with GPs support - my advice is see GP before you decide what to do and be guided by his advice - in the meantime, keep popping on here - there's usually someone about to talk to and to listen Ann XXXX

ok, here goes.

I reordered my prescription last Tuesday and by Thursday night they had still not been delivered. I cant get into my Chemist because of wheelchair access issues so get them to deliver.

A friend had suggested that I should maybe not take them anymore, and I had in fact thought the same as because of the low dosage I was not sure they had made any difference. I came to the conclusion the doc and chemist thought the same.

However I still called the chemist and asked where they were knowing I still had 2 left from previous packet.

They gave me some story about not wanting to deliver to a property where more than one flat had access to same letterbox. They didnt have this issue a month ago.

Anyway I told them to redeliver which they did.

So I came home Friday and for some reason needed to have an alcoholic drink, (not drunk alcohol since December 15th). I opened a bottle of wine and finished it last night.

Today I decided not to take the tablet and within hours I am upset with comments made by my best friend (of 22yrs) in relation getting together for my birthday (end of Feb).

I really want to take time off the pills but am scared of what I (and others) will go through as a result.

I will really need to take them for the next month (from 2nd week in March onward) because life is going to be hell at work due to a number of good friends, (some have been my rock in the last 6 months) leaving.

I may be on this thread more often they you would like me to be.

If anyone wants to see my photo just pm me with your email address - however it comes with a picture of a rabbit and my son's MiL - don't know how to separate them. Only offering this photo as to date it's the best one I.ve ever had taken in the last twenty or so years - black and white - I think I was made for black and white - it's age thing obviously

Hi Dave nice to see you looking in.

I have sent pm to new posters. Hope I got them all!

Deanna I do the same as Mary. Set to newest. Agree with Ann there are some post's on here that are very sad and I wouldn't want those who posted them to get lost in all the other threads.

Caz (C) why don't you read the poems and let yourself have a good cry, release some of that tension. Stop hiding it. It'll make you feel better I'm sure. xxx

Caz (Y) Did you talk to your family recently? How are you ? Sending you lots of love xxx

Jude thanks for the photos. You and your sister are so alike. What a lovely family you have. x

Hi to Liz, Jules, Ann, Gail, Rebekah, Joy, Irene, If I missed you give us a nudge sorry xxxxx

Good morning all.

I just came on to have a look and greet everyone.

I'm finding this MASSIVE thread very difficult to manage.
Do you think a second one would be a good idea or is everyone quite happy with this?

Hello Malc - bless you and well done, just seen your post. You will get there, take care.

Hello Kathy. you've taken the first step, so make a list of steps to take and tick them off as you accomplish them. Could you meet up with someone from here you know for coffee. Or go to the library to look up some info for someone (not google!!), just a thought:o)))) Take care:o)

Hi Jude/Liz,my son also went back to school 2 years ago, and achieved his sound production technician's diploma. He was 32 when he graduated. Unfortunately he has not found a job in the field, instead working in carpentry for IKEA.
Eighteen months ago,my oldest daughter at 37 years old, decided she would never be able to support her 4 children properly (having been left on her own), and enrolled in University to get a 4 year Psychology degree. When she applied she was able to not only receive government assistance, but also received 2 grants and a Millenium scholarship, and they offered her the Honours Psych programme instead, with a collaborative Behavioural science diploma attached. She is the first student from this Uni to be accepted into the coll. programme, which has actually been offered for 5 years. They consider her their test case!! She is aiming at becoming an autism consultant for the school board. the need is great and she has lots of experience, having 2 out of her own 4 kids with autism. She is looking into a year in Swansea or Aberystwyth in year 5, we would just HAVE to go with her, not sure how the children would adjust but what an opportunity.
There is light at the end of the tunnel for those who can bring themselves to take the first step.
Mary
