great news Carole - and don't worry about the bedroom, they won't care about it, just be pleased to see you. Tell you what, why not get a lovely hyacinth in bloom and put it in their bedroom - the smell is just gorgous. Got a few round my house at the moment and the scent is to die for

Rebekah you were so brave to go on your own. Will oh be able to go with you next week?

Kathy you are right about having a purpose to go out. You are so focused it takes your mind off playing nasty tricks and panicing you. Also by going to the dentist and imagining your dad there with you took your mind off the worries of being at the dentist. My friend took me to a garden centre before Christmas, and I was so excited to see all the lovely tree decorations I filled a basket. Emptied purse!! It was great just to be out feeling nearly normal.

Deanna hi, we don't see your posts as moaning! I think we see them as theraputic. Keep it up xxx

My good news is my daughter and her boyfriend might be coming home Wednesday, if they can get on the flight, it lands about 7am at Heathrow. I'm so excited they have been away since Nov 22 2006. They had 11 months in Japan then went to Australia.
I will have to wait until I get home from work to see them can't wait. If they come home the week after I'm on holiday from work so will be able to meet them. Wish I'd had more notice I want to make the bedroom look nice. Whoooooah xxx

Hello Deanna, nice to see you again on here, I'll pm you tomorrow, I have run out of time and energy for today, nearly bedtime. I have the spring cleaning bug, but can't do much about it, if I wash up and wipe tops down I have to sit and rest for half an hour lol.
Any news of Romany yet? Let us know how you went on Romany. Hope you are feeling a bit less pain now.

Hi everyone, I hope you are feeling a little better today.
I phoned one of my friends today and had a lovely 'uplifting chat'.
She told me to ring her ANY TIME I need a chat..... think I'll test her and phone at two in the morning..... just a joke, she is a good friend and I would never abuse her love.

I am still a little down, but I have to admit that knowing that I can come on here and have a moan makes me feel a bit better....

Good night all.
Keep your spirits up
Deanna X

Thanks for that Mary, I don't mind black tea so maybe I won't find it bad to drink. I've tried other herbal teas and they are yuk!.

Romany, go easy on the malibu, if he gives you antibiotics they don't really mix with drink. When I had my lymph nodes out with breast cancer, I ended up with a big abcess under my arm, I was in hospital a week, (I'd got MRSA as well), the doctor said abcesses could be very dangerous, if mine had got into my bloodstream I would be seriously ill. I've never forgotten it.
I love looking at old death certificates and the reason for death. I look for my family in Ancestry Parish records and the reasons for death makes me want to weep, especially children.

Hi everybody

Sorry that I didn't come on yesterday .It was very foggy and I didn't go out .Had intended being good and get on with some house work but read a book instead .
Elaine you are doing very well going to town on your own .Many years ago when I was able to drive into town I could only go a short distance from my car then I would have to scurry back .There was a craze at the time of collecting beanie babies and my son was no different .They were very difficult to get so when a lady told me one day that several shops were due deliveries I found myself at the opposite end of town to my car and I hadn't realised .From then on I continued my hunt most days .Cost me a fortune on beanies !!! which are now packed up in boxes in the hope they might become collectable again .
I think I need to find a purpose for going out but a cheaper one !!!
Well wasn't expecting a card today but I could have done without the letter from SAGA speak about salt in the wound.
Romany good luck this afternoon .I am a dental phobic as well .This might sound corny but last time I went I sat quietly for a few minutes before I left the house and asked my dad to come with me ( he has been dead 10 yrs) .While I was in the dentist chair getting more and more worked up I could hear in my head dad saying your doing fine then I visualised us walking along a beach just like we did when he was alive .ok it was just my immagination but it really helped me
Well everyone have a good day

Kathy :-) xx

The tea Caz refrs to is ESSIAC. It's a herbal tea made with burdock, turkish rhubarb, slippery elm bark among other things. We are very aware of it here because it was introduced by a nurse in northern Ontario (Renee Caisse) as a cancer treatment many years ago. (Essiac is her surname in reverse) it's never been added to the Canadian formulary of accepted medications but I have seen it's effect. Not to say it's a cure-all but at the very least appears to be a good tonic.
Caz it tastes a bit like black tea, you put 1 ounce of the solution into 2 ounces of boiling water. That's 1/3 of a cup you have to swallow. Hold your nose if necessary!!
If interested, please Google Renee Caisse or Essiac for more technical info, I am not an expert, just a believer in this "concoction".
I would expect to find it at a health food shop.
hope this helps,
Mary

I bought a death cert from 1845, one of my husbands ancestors, and the lady died from an abscess, lol! Makes you realise how lucky we are to have dentists, and its also brought home how dangerous abscesses can be. I hadn't thought about it before. Am having a stiff malibu and coke now.

YorkshireCaz

YorkshireCaz Report 14 Feb 2008 12:33

Romany, it has something to do with the blood stream and any infection from abcess could get into the wound where tooth came out. keeping fingers crossed for you, let us know how you go on.

It sounds like he might just give me anitbiotics today then, oh I hope so!! Im shaking already. Sorry, meant husband will be in the waiting room, but I have to go in on my own. I cant wait to get false teeth in the future, no more of this! Thanks ladies.

Romany, poor you, a hot towel on my ear works when I have earache. We will be here for you, all thinking and sending good vibes this afternoon. Don't be scared, I was terrified of dentists until I found this one, now I would rather have one out than drilled and filled. Couldn't hubby go with you and sit in waiting room with your son?
Mine wouldn't pull a tooth out while I had an abcess, he gave me antibiotic first to clear it up, when it had gone the tooth was quite normal so didn't need pulling.

oh honeybuns I'm with you on this one - just think when it's all over you will be pain free and if the dentist is worth his salt he'll be as gentle as he can. Don't be afraid to tell him how scared you are though he'll probably already know that. I shall be thinking of you. Let's know how you get on and you can then tell us it wasn't half as bad as you thought it would be!!!

I wouldn't normally ask, but can I have some good luck/peace vibes around 3.20pm please? I have a dentist appointment, have an abscess and problem with wisdom tooth, am in agony and its causing ear ache too. Ive got to go on my own as husband has to mind our 2 year old. Im so scared, its the thought of someone pulling at my teeth with pliers!

Pmd you Ann, I must be going daft, I copied some of Marys letter about the tea and pasted into a new message on there. Never thought I could have easily done it on here for others to see. Maybe Mary will, or I will later if anyone else wants to know.
It's a tonic tea that is good for cancer.

Caz - must have missed the bit about the tea - what tea is it exactly please?

Hi gang - trust we are all in fine feckle this morning - I didn't wake till 10:30 as I was up late getting in a right tiz on the 54 DAYS thread - have calmed down somewhat now. There's a lovely guy on there called John - I've suggested he comes to our thread - his son has schizophrenia - a truly dreadful illness. I think he'll get some comfort on here so do hope he pops in.
