Hello Everyone,

My daughter came with me on wednesday to the hospital as I don`t like travelling on buses alone as I get panicky. for the scan on my kidneys (I thought) no. my gp wanted my full abdoman sp scanned. I have to wait till wednesday next week for the results.
I have done literally nothing in the house but sleep 12/18 hrs this past week.
Today I was up at 1pm, I found the wilpower to do some housework dusting & vacuming the living room, make the beds & even decluttered my bench tops, washed the kitchen floor. my home feels cleaner now mind it took me till my daughter came in at 5.30pm & had to take breaks in between jobs.
I let my daughter make the tea though.
Guess I had a good day...don`t know what tomorrow brings.

Hi, I'm really tired had two nights where I was so excited I could hardly sleep! Yesterday daughter arrived home and it was so good to hold her. This morning my routine was a mess cos I normally get up shower turn on computer then the kettle, come back to computer to see if there are any emails from her. This morning she was sat near the radiator! So we were talking I had to go to work though. She is busy sorting out her belongings in her room at the moment. I'm on holiday from work now so will have lots of time with her.

I have read through the thread from my last post to date.
Carolina my heart goes out to you. It's not your fault. Your son has a mind of his own and he choose to try drugs. All you can do is be there for him. Betty wrote you a lovely post to give some support.

Deanna think positive, think of the good days. They will get more frequent.

Dave you did suceed in getting an interview, aim for the next one! You did very well.

Kathy you don't want your son ringing you all the time if he forgets thats good it means he is ok! Our kids need to be independant, thats sucsessful parenting.

Mary, oh dear! What will we do with you? You need a secretary.

Liz will be thinking of you (I'm back at psychologist Wed next week)

Rebekah hows the abcess? Pleased 2yr old was good at play group, it makes it nice to get out

Jules how are you?

Joyce ~~~~~to you x

Any news from Gran of Oz, man of Kent, Twinkle lttle str Elaine, Jude ?

and so you should feel proud Dave - and the fact that they have said they will keep your details on file is good. They need not have said anything need they. You've done it once and now you can do it again, and again if necessary. Keep at it hun, you'll get something for sure.

Oh Ann, you've given me a good laugh, the last time I had a window salesman in the house I ended up married to him!!!!
beware of salesmen!!
Biggest mistake of my life, he was outgoing and charming on the surface, but underneath a monster lurked. Nuff said.
Thanks for the kick,now I am going . . .

that's right - give yourself a good shaking up!! I've just had one - I had a stand up row with a double glazing salesman just now and have rung the company to complain - still steaming and seething!

Morning all, this is one of those days when I bump up my meds a bit.
Those papers have caught up with me, I decluttered a lot but then got stuck (or distracted) and dumped the remainder in a basket out of sight. Today I find the renewal form for my nursing licence, it was due Dec 31st. I've been working without a licence, had 6 weeks off work with my knee surgery and still didn't get all the papers done. Why do I do this?? Can someone come over and give me a kick in the rear to get moving?
I suppose it's my lifelong battle between emotional and intellectual self, the latter KNOWS what should be done but the other side takes over. Yet intellectually, I know when one is clear and organised one functions better. I tell everyone else how to do it - 15 minutes at a time - but allow myself to do something else to distract from dealing with the issue.
Perhaps Liz will have some words of wisdom after her counselling.
On a positive note the sun is shining.
I worry about my son too when he doesn't call, and he's 33!!
Hugs to all who are struggling, I'm going offline now for a bit to try and shake some sense into myself !!

Hello folks. Took 2 yr old to baby group today, she was actually good for once, a true miracle! Was nice to get out for a change, and hear everyone complaining about the teenagers in our village, so I know its not just me who gets anxious about the trouble they cause. Been getting silent calls (witheld) on my mobile, which is worrying.

Hi Kathy, as Deanna says, don't worry that he isn't contacting you - he is obviously having a good time. Like Deanna says, when my son had to go and live in Plymouth for six months to do his train drivers course - first time away from home at 17 - he rang me all the time in a dreadful state and I found it very hard to deal with his calls. In the end I wouldn't answer the phone and let his Dad take the calls cos he was firmer than me. Happy to say he passed the course, but I went through hell with him at the time. Just be grateful you ain't getting calls like I had or like Deanna had!! Hope that makes you feel a bit better - it's meant to anyway!!!

Irene , Ann, and Kathy thank you for that. I just feel bad about it because I was doing so well.

And Kathy.... if your boy is not phoning and writing, and texting you ever day be happy for him.

when my boy was at uni he phoned me ALL day everyday!
He was so ill, and was not getting the treatment he deserved, sad as... if he had been on DRUGS they would have been bending over backwards to help him as they did with a couple of people in his class.
We wanted him to come home and have himself sorted... THEN go back and start his degree course the next year.
e wouldn't do that as he only had the 3 years paid for, and we would have had to pay for the first year.... he knew we didn't have it.
Still, he got his degree but we would have liked him to have had a good time too.

So, your boy is perhaps too busy having a ball to talk to you ;-0) ..... I hope he is really enjoying his time as a student.

Hi every one

I have not posted for a few days as I had nothing to report but I have been reading the posts .
Deanna hope the black cloud lifts soon .
I am bad at remembering every ones names so I will just say how brave you all are for opening up and being so honest .
I didn't make it to church on sunday and although I said I wouldn't beat myself up I did !!
I have been a bit down the last few days .My problem is nothing like as bad as most of you but I have a 19 yr old son away at uni and he knows I worry so agreed to call me once a week . Well frequently he doesn't .It is now a week and a half since I last heard from him and he does not answer his phone or emails .I am sure he is ok but I still worry and that adds to my anxiety .
He is a loner at the best of times and I don't think he has any friends .When at home he never goes out and no one calls .
His dad died suddenly when he was 13 and I had a very rough time after that .I took him to cruise as I was worried that he was holding his emotions in but he calmly told the counsellor that life goes on and you just have to deal with it .His grandmother died the same year so when asked how he was feeling about that he said he was fine as she didn't like him any way.
I worry because I don't know what mine is doing and many of you have your worries because you do know what yours are doing !!!
I managed to go into town yesterday and was on 4 buses .One day I might be able to drive into town
Hope you all have a good day and good luck liz this afternoon

Kathy :-)
