Hi Deanna

Id just had all my police check stuff cleared as I had heard rumblings about this trip lol. Just typical I got in too late !!! I can do things like this now my little one is at school too and have been looking forward to getting a bit more involved.

All the teachers and helpers at the school are brill. I'm trying to swing it so that she either gets put in the group with her teacher (who she hero worships) or with a friend of mine who has my mobile number and I know in the real world !! lol xx

Good they know now that you will be willing to help.

Once I was able, I went on all the trips.
Loved it, was quite a good organiser and was usually given a couple of the troublesome kids. NO trouble to me, that is why they were given to me.
They always behaved with me so why not with anyone else? I never threatened them..... they were just good.

You are not being daft at all , Muffs , my love,

In May my little Abi, then coming up 5 went to Manchester for the day with school, coming back at 6pm.It was a couple of weeks after Madeliene disappeared and I remember feeling sick as the coach left.

My baby was in the care of other people in a big city! But she was fine and had a great time!!

It's four children per helper I'm told and her teachers (and a few of the helpers) know what a worry bag I am so they have promised me they will keep an extra eye on her for me. Bless them.

I like the idea of a mobile. Thanks for that. I have an old one here. I'll start giving her lessons on actually using it as a phone rather than just a camera as she has been doing.

There you are Muffy, an offer you can't refuse......

But BC, don't frighten her with a beard and cap pulled down over your face.

AND Muffy.... if you were not worried, I would be worried about you as a mother!
It is in the mothers hand book.... Thou shalt worry about EVERYTHING..... forever. Age does not stop it love...

BC lololol I may well take you up on that hon !!!

I'd love to go to the trip but it got hi jacked very quickly by other mothers. Little one was off school ill when the note came round and I missed my chance ;0(

I know I have to let her go but I feel sick with worry already. Part of me hopes she has a very slight illness on the day and isn't able to make it. I know that sounds awful ! xx

I don't think you are being daft Muffy. It's natural to worry when our little ones go out into the big wide world without us.
Have you talked to her teachers about your fears? Ask how many staff/adults will be going too (maybe you could offer to go as a parent helper)

I am sure they will take good care of your daughter and she will have a wonderful time, but it won't hurt to ask a few pertinent questions to put your mind at rest.

If you like, Muffy, I will don my cunning disguise and stalk her for you. I used to do that when I started letting my son walk to school on his own! Just let me know where she will be and dont worry about a thing:-)) BC XX

My eldest went down to London with the school when she was 8...
She had a lovely time and I have a photo of her and some of her friends feeding the pigeons in Trafalgar square.

I did not go with her as I still had a 7 year old at school and a 3 year old at home.

But You should try to join in with the trips at school Muffy. You would have a good time and you will be there to look after your own child and 4 or 5 others.
Great fun.

But as far as this time goes. She will have a good time .
Just do the usual.... "stay with the teacher, don't go anywhere alone not even to the toilet...... do what teacher tells you....!" ;-0)
Only kidding Muffy, they are so little there will be others there too looking after her, and she will be safe and have a lovely time.
God Bless

course you're not being daft and you will no doubt worry about her all day long and when she comes in you'll see what a lovely time she's had and be glad you let her go - teachers are very very careful these days - she'll be fine. No good saying don't worry, you're a mother - that's what mothers do!!
