~~waves to Ellan~~ - a neighbour! lol

Teresa, in our local library here in Barnstaple we have genealogy records going back to the mid-1800's. As I said earlier, hubby is from North Devon anyway and has lots of ancestry here on his mum's side.

I need to do some looking-up for his side sometime, and have also offered to do a look-up for another member here, but haven't got round to it yet. This could be the perfect opportunity to get a day off and go to the library!

If you'd like me to do any lookups for you, pm me and I'll do what I can.

See you all later. ~~waves~~

Thought I had better pop in and say hello,
from Sunny Devon. !!!!!!!!!!
After the rain this morning, lovely sunshine this afternoon, albeit cold.
Plymouth Hoe,looking at its best on a cold winters January day.
The cloud formation, and the colour of the sea, absolutely stunning.
Cant wait for the summertime, when all the yachts are bobbing about.
Must admit the Cornish coastline is so beautiful, whatever the season.
I love my home town, although lived in other cities,Im glad I am back home to stay.
It does make a nice change to hear about Devon/Cornwall.

I love Cornwall and OH and I intended to retire there and run a caravan site! Unhappily circumstances put paid to this, but I'm there in my dreams :o)

We have friends who live at Praa Sands and we also used to stay with a friend of my parents who ran a B&B in Western Terrace, Falmouth in the late 1960s, early 1970s.

As a child, we spent many happy family holidays at Fishcombe Beach in Brixham, Devon. In the 1980s we had some wonderful holidays with our children in our caravan near Dawlish. I remember, as a child, being scared when the railway line was so close to the sea at Dawlish and frightened that the train would fall into the sea!

OH's ancestors come from Landkey, near Barnstaple, Knowle, near Crediton and Broadclyst. He still has family in Exmouth and Pinhoe.

I think we definitely must go back to the West Country this year :o)
