What were yours called? It's amazing how names change so quickly over the years, and even each decade brings new names. (Why? How?!) My great grandparents were Stephen & Clarice, Aleksander & Annette, Reuben & Eliza, and Percy & Gentina. My step great grandparents (wonderful people) were Fred & Iva, and Charlie & Frances. xxx

Pretty names RS.

My maternal G.Grand parents were Julius and Ruth / William and Louisa. Grand parents - George and Winifred.
Paternal Grandparents... John and Eveyln.... G.Grandparents...Irish, need I say more!!!

mine seem to have handed names down from 1 gen to next. not easy to keep track.
Paternal-g g grandparents -Walter+Louisa,John+Elizabeth
Maternal only got as far as g grandparents-John +Elizabeth,William + Sarah

maternal grandmother - Nellie Breakspear
she never married [!!!] so have no idea at all who my grandfather on that side was

My maternal grandparents were Hilda and Reginald gt grandparents Lily and George, Gt Gt Mary Anna and George. Paternal grandparents William and Dorothy, Gt William and Annie, gt gt Thomas and Sarah. Lots of Sophie's Fanny's and Hannahs further back

Hi Ellan and everyone. Hope you all had a nice Christmas. Some lovely names there. Wonder what names will be fashionable in 20 years, I can't imagine. 100 years ago people would have thought you weird if you called your kids Chelsea, Demi, Kyle, Britney etc.

My husband has a relative called Fanny Ratty if you trace the female line you get to a stipend from Samuel Pepys - left to the females of the family only!

Definitely not me! Have used the the other side of Friends and Genes but not a message board so far. As for taking the mikey, not at all that was her name and for info the stipend is only worth 75p in new money
