I dont know what the aim of the people involved is. It dosent effect my everyday life and I dont live just for GR.

But I am less inclined to get into a really good thread these days as they end up being ruined and have deleted posts everywhere so you cant follow the train.

I have never been someone to trust anyone for the sake of it but these days
I read some threads with deep sceptisim.

Its a shame really as I have had a good laugh sometimes if I have been working late and need to chill out for an hour of so.

I know these posters are in the minority on here - but I wouldnt mix with people like that in the real world so wonder why should I put myself at risk of mixing with them on here. I cant be bothered to keep up with the name changes anymore.

I feel sorry really though for the new people that join as I am sure a lot of people now wonder - are they new....or have they just changed ID.

that thread Errol ran on the BNP was an excellent example of a great debate - no one fell out - with the exception of the BNP blighter who barged his way in - and even then Errol was extremely polite to him. It was adult and it was great

Yes Ann I read that thread - it was a good debate, but for every good one there are three or four others that get hijacked because some people cant understand that by not having the same point of view is not the same as a personal attack.

That debate was interesting and I read more than posted on it - but if I recall there were maybe only half a doz people prepared to put there name on the line in the debate. I think 4 months ago there would have been more, but now like me we are less inclined. Its a shame.

It is a great shame, Maddie. And you are right in that some people do take debate as "having a go".
I thought it was a great debate - made great by the various people who chose to contribute to it.

That was a great debate Errol. All credit to you for putting it up and for those that participated so well. It made very interesting reading xx

I missed it as usual and am happy with that but for at least two years perhaps longer when there is trouble on this board it is always at a weekend. Wonder if booze plays any part in it?

I'm convinced it does, Chris. Muffy, for instance, is known to have a glass of sherry on a Saturday evening!
