Oh Muffy, you must be awash with tears - how I feel for you - been there, done it, and it's bloody awful, even though you've done the right thing, and you know you have, it still hurts like hell. Thank you so much everyone for all your kind thoughts and words. It's been an awful day and the house feels very very empty even though I have two other dogs.

My old boy went very peacefully and regained his dignity which he was losing by the day. Bless his heart.

This thread has brought a tear to my eye. Thank you so so much. You're a lovely bunch xx

Dear Muffy

I am so sorry to read of your poor boy - my heart goes out to you - i had to say goodbye to my eldest cat 2 months ago :O(

Times like this are the hardest to go through as a pet owner, but you have to do what is best and bring the suffering to a peaceful end - it's the kindest thing you can do even though I know it will never feel that way to you.

You'll have happy memories and he'll always be with you in spirit.
