Angie, stop apologising and try not to get too stressed - save your energy for Monday morning when you start chasing up that idiot again.

I hasten to add, the comment Hayley is talking about wasn't made directly to me, but in general about the same subject. However, as I was one of the people 'getting in on the action' I took it personally.

I think the point needs to be made here, that there is a brilliant support network on this site. People who need support from time to time are not, or should not be, frightened to ask for it. They should not be undermined by comments from someone who does not like to see it.

Therefore, if a bad comment is put on such a thread, it should really be ignored and the support continued regardless. And the thread itself should continue regardless. We all know who it is, so we can readily just dismiss their comments, bacause that is all they are worth.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and as paying members, entitled to put it on the boards. BUT....put it politely, not in a bitter nasty way.

Maddiecow Report 17 Nov 2007 12:05

No Covalass it is not. And I hope you dont feel that my opinon (which is sitting on the fence) encourages that.

MM
I understand what you are saying.
I have posted my opinions in Angies threads as I am free to do so like everyone else. Everyone has different views on thinks it would be a very boaring world if we all thought the same.
But is there really any need to turn it into an argument and upset someone more so than they already are. When this first came to light it was for people to show support not cause argument, a thread where those people who wanted be kept updated on the situation could do so.

Maddiecow

Maddiecow Report 17 Nov 2007 11:59

Why duck Sue...? Seams a valid point.

Would also stop all the new threads opening so those that choose not to continue reading know its the same threead.

Sue

Sue Report 17 Nov 2007 11:58

I probably wont be too popular for this but...

I am fed up with trying to keep up with someone's story only to find the thread has gone before I am 'up to date'.

If a sad person adds an inflammatory post it would be better IMO to leave it but ignore it completely.

That way the thread can continue with support from other members but the person causing trouble will have their post up for all to see their true colours until they choose to delete it.

*ducks to avoid missiles*

Covlass I hope I made it clear that I do condone the way it has been handled by certain people.

What I am saying is people are entitled to have their doubts, however, I personally think if you now have any doubts just dont add to the post - its quite simple.

I dont beleive just because a majority share a view everyone has to agree with it.

But keeping council instead is a far wiser option.

I am sitting on the fence on this one and have no strong view one way or another as to what may or may not have happened.

I agree to a point Ron and Maddie, and I would usually be the first to say ignore, don't give them the reaction they crave.

However, this one person seems to be intent on damaging and undermining the good that is done on these boards, and the message here is that we will not be stopped because of this.

TheBlackKnight

TheBlackKnight Report 17 Nov 2007 11:46

Covless well said.
While i agree with what your saying, I feel it's threads like this that give the person attention and outline their efferts to cause trouble, and that just feeds them and makes them do it all the more. Best thing we can all do is take no notice of the person doing this to peolpe like Angie, and don't even talk to them untill they start acting more like a responsable grownup.
Well thats just my veiw
Good luck Angie

Ron :-))

I agree with you everyone is entiltled to an opinion but some people do not have the intelligence to keep cetain opinions to themselves and are intent on causing trouble. Even if i didnt agree with Angies situation I would not be so hurtfull as to upset someone who is not only upset but in ill health, I would read the thread but not reply. Its like kicking someone when they are already down and that is not acceptable

One certain person seemed determined to stir things up on that thread and it isn't the first time that name has cropped up with unpleasant, to say the least, posts. One day that person might say something that could push a down at heart person over the edge, I hope they can live with themselves, as they must have a sad life to keep doing such things to others.
Liz
who is backing Angie all the way.

I wonder if it is the same person that has been goading and stalking me, but who can appear sweet at times in public, whom I would be willing to name and shame but not until after my birthday thread
