Oh Kathy - that's all you need.
Thankfully it's gone silent around here - it's almost painful after the noise.

I would love to stick a rocket some where painful right now !!
Why do we have to put up with this every year .One night is bad enought but it goes on for about a week. My cat has been a nervous wreck and refuses to go out . On top of that a neighbour has decided to throw a loud party .
Would a petition to the government make any difference ?
A very pissed off

It's relatively quiet here now. Just waiting for the pubs to throw out!!
Just looked in the box where George is hiding, its soaking where he has been salivating.

we've had them here tonight and the last few nights!

when we had our dog [she died 6yrs ago] they never bothered her, she would sleep right through all the bangs.

i have 2 cats and they don't seem bothered, just pop there heads up when a big bang goes off,----"me!" i nearly jump out of the chair!!!!

i liked fireworks when they were fireworks! now they are more like bombs!
they were going off before and it sounded like someone was being shot! it was like a tommy gun lol !

bring back the fireworks we had when we were kids, like the cathrin wheel, fire crackers, and those little fountain things!!
my dad used to set them off, he would'nt let us near them, and kept them in a tin box, but we had to go and pick up all the used ones out of the garden the next day!!

well, it's gone quiet out there now, but for how long??

don't think they should sell them untill the actuall day! or just have displays.

chris.

Could also argue environmental damage - a rocket landed in my pond a few years ago and killed all the fish. What happens to natural ponds?

Betty has finally turned up, after nearly 3 hours - we had 20 minutes silence just now - she is a quivering wreck and has taken refuge in the doll's house.

We had a large display at the Army Barracks near us last night, there is a National Trust property nearby which had a display tonight and the neighbours are letting some really loud fireworks off. The dog has been laying on our feet all night bless him. I expect we will have more fireworks tomorrow and Monday. I think there should be public displays only and the noise levels of fireworks should be reduced.

The noise here is unbelievable it is so loud. My dog is not scared but he keeps barking at the bangs and its driving me mad. I don't know whats worse the fireworks or the dog, bless him.

Betty is still missing - luckily the cat flap was locked, but still I wonder if she could have got out somehow.
They've started off again with a vengenace here - I presume the public display is over.
Went into the garden just now. I'm so glad I'm not asthmatic, the air is thick with cordite or whatever the explosive is, it's like a fog!!

It's like WW2 here tonight. When we had our little dog I phoned the vet as she was so distrsessed but when I heard how much he charged to come out I asked could I give her a valium. He said 'yes' so I did.
I wouldn't care but we only live in a small village - God knows what it must be like in a more built up area!!!

I've lost Betty!!!
Mr Mew is on my lap, George is squashed into the smallest box he could squeeze into. Betty was on the piano stool, but I can't find her now - could be in the cupboard under the stairs or being a duster, ie behind the sideboard.
Won't know until the fireworks stop or she needs the loo. At least I HOPE she comes out when she needs to go!!!!

Two of my close neighbours are setting off fireworks.....I wish they had warned us. Now we have to go out looking for one of our cats. The noise is horrendous and most of their rockets are falling into our garden.
