I , was scared of flushing the toilet as well, the toilet was downstairs near the back door, it seemed large and dark, the cistern was high......so someone tied a bit of string to the chain you had to pull, and I would go as far as I could and pull......then run like mad up the stairs.....I can laugh at it now....

I remember being in the house with my little Sis, I was watching Quatermass and the Pit, my Sis was in bed.....and I was too scared to go up the stairs to bed in case that 'thing' got me......

I used to be terrified of the big blue brushes at the car wash, I was convinced they were going to get me! Still don't like drive though ones now!!

Like many others Daleks - once went to Dr Who exhibition and you could remote control one and my brother had it chasing me round. Mum had to take me out as I was hysterical!

Mine was a really STUPID THING. But that's me all over!

I had to sleep with the lights out, BUT, I would never have any bit of me *outside the blankets*.... not even my head!!

If someone came in and attacked the family, they would cut off any bits which were not covered!!

My mum used to wake me up and pull me up the bed. I told her I was COLD. Perhaps I was protecting her, from the fear, I don't know.

I have no reason for this fear.
I was a well protected little girl.

I had 4 teeth taken out at the age of 4. Every time I saw somebody in a white coat ie baker's was one I sceamed the place down.
To this day the smell of rubber and the gas that was used at the time , feel sick thinking about it

Like a few others Daleks., oh those voices.
Bogie men under the bed.

And one that still worries me is a war.
I was scared the Germans would come and shoot me.

Paul Temple- the detecitve on the radio!
There was one story when they went into a darkend house they looked up the stairs and a man fell down from top to bottom, with a dagger in his back.

After that if I was in the house on my own when it was going dark I used to go around opening all the wardrobe and cupboard doors and all the drawers and not looking up the stairs-just incase.

My parents could not understand why I'd opened everything and I couldn't tell them incase they laughed!!

My big childhood fear was dinosaurs after watching certain black and white movies. I used to have nightmares about them and even now I can't watch the likes of Jurassic Park much to my OH's amusement.

I am well aware now that it is a daft fear but I stay away from anything about them just in case.

I specifically remember an English Actor in Movies that scared me to death when I was young. His name was Donald Pleasance he always made me go cold whenever I saw him. I have occasionally seen him in Movies and recently he was in an Australian Movie that I saw on TV and he still makes my skin crawl.
I remember seeing him in a movie when I was in my teens called "Doctor Crippen" I only watched a little bit of it and had to leave the Cinema.

Also was scared of the Dark as a child. I still don't like it. But sorry I still don't laugh about it
Regards
Jackie
