This is all so difficult really isnt it...

I was called a "Witch" a short while back because i was seen to be saying harsh words to someone, But, as with alot of arguments on here, what that person didnt see what the beginning of that particular trouble where the person i was typing to had , with another member torn apart a lady whom i knew personally and had done nothing wrong to warrant the attack.
I was called a name because someone had come in the middle of the argument and looking at it face value and perhaps blinkered had rushed to shout me down.
This is at the heart of so many problems on here, people perhaps have not been at the start of a problem or argument and do not know the full story.
Its very dificult to be able to make a reasoned and rational judgement of a situation when not in full facts of both sides of the problem in the first place,.

Now, i do understanf fully that, when we see a friend " attacked" on the site it is only natural we would jump to their defence, of course this is perfectly normal and what friends would do.
But sometimes, we do this so blindly we really do not see the real problem, just that "other" person who is arguing with our freind and that they HAVE to be in the wrong.
None of us are perfect, all of us make mistakes, i know i have in judging people sometimes, Its taking the time to find out the full story, think about the problem and make a rational decision on whether and how to get involved we all fall foul of here on GR.

Its in our human nature to let our tempers get the betterof us sometimes isnt it, but what me MUST get used to is the fact that unlike an argument face to face, where we let our mouths run away with us, before our brains are even in gear... on the internet we have the bonus of having to THINK what we type... and then relay that into written word... this takes longer that talking.. and time enough for us to think twice about what we write..

We can all get our point across without resorting to bad language, and personal attack surely?

I to have seen these and agree with every word you have said, but as I have to been named as a baddy of late Im keeping quiet,(not on any threads from there but in general) so will keep mum ;;;;
except Gr should know of these threads and those peeps banned for life ;;;
Animals well I know what I would like to do with few of them for they way they have called peeps and hounded them ;;;

I agree with Scraper of Land. Just get the things taken down - they are obviously causing unneccesary upset and pain.

I dont really care what people say about others - I will always make up my own mind.

But I do think the threads need to be moderated. We pay enough money - I dont see why this cant be done. Three strikes and your out.

I have seen these threads, quite a few of them actually....
It doesn't matter to me if they were written a year ago or an hour ago - i am utterly disgusted by what i have seen...
There are posts (too distrubing to repeat) about two much loved members of the Gt boards who are no longer with us - but missed by everyone....
They were posted by people i thought were fairly 'normal', but a couple were of no suprise to me....
I don't think they should be smoothed over or brushed under the carpet, i think everyone on the boards has the right to know what is being said about them or their loved ones....

I think you have hit the nail on the head when you said '' or are we really animals at heart'' - in answer to your question, yes, some people are, and some are a lot worse than that...
