Never ever cook frozen chicken!! DANGEROUS

....and sorry Kay but always place chicken, fresh or frozen (or any fresh meat ) onto bottom shelf of fridge, as blood etc. can drip and cause contamination.

Better to be safe than sorry!

One of the major supermarket sells frozen breasts of chicken in packs of 6 and 12.

On the cooking instructions it says

'Best cooked from frozen'

personaly I wouldn't cook from frozen but I don't usually buy frozen meat

any meat that is still on the bone should be throughly thawed out,,,,,,,,,

any meat on bone or other wise should never be put in water/cold or warm to thaw.

never !!!! defrost on top shelf of the fridge covered,,,,,,never in a warm room,,,,,,,,,,

any heated up pre-cooked meat should be heated till the centre is piping hot,,,

and never just warm any dish containing prawns or keep re-heating,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Northernheart rye. All I can say is you are a very lucky lady. The danger in cooking chicken from frozen is that it might not be thoroughly cooked in the centre and that is where the problem can arise as regards bacteria. Salmonella is a particuarly nasty illness which can take weeks to clear out of your system and makes you feel very ill. Lecture over.

The answer to your question is

NO NEVER.

you can defrost it bt as others have said, it kinda cooks anyway, even a few minutes at a time.

Just make sure in future that you take it out the night before. Don't want a hospital job... it is just not plaesant!! ;-0(

don't ever wash a raw chicken....you can get bacteria on it and that can result in food piosoning,

I use the microwave to defrost mine. I do it a few minutes at a time though or they will come out cooked - as you already know! :-)
