Rose,
my nephew went to Aus' in january and is doing really well there, has a guaranteed job for 4 years if he wants to stay and as he went out to be with his Aussie girlfriend ,if that works out I think he will stay.
which is sad for his parents who miss him but can't say I blame him, though personally I have never been interested in going there.

Hi Rose. I'd want to sell everything we own and travel Britain in a gypsy wagon. And I would lol, but my husbands the sensible one!

Dee I do hope your OH can be persuaded lol ! You deserve to enjoy yourself.

A friend of mine is always saying lately that she must move to somewhere 'convenient' and 'suitable' for her old age....she is only 61 and it makes me flinch to hear her talking as if it is 'all over' bar the shouting! I don't want to get like that yet!

Yeah...sorry Rose...I pressed submit but I didn't think it had been added - so submitted again!!! Deleted now.

But as you may know I was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and all the things I most feared from the treatment I have had to face head on. I'm now having chemotherapy, and I have found out I am braver than I ever thought I was!

Go for it and follow your dream. When I am over this, I want to do the same..sell the house and use the money to have some enjoyment out of the rest of my life!

Not sure OH agrees though!

Deanna, am getting to the age where I realise that 'memories' of people are in my head not in 'items' so I am clearing out lots of bits and bobs.....would need to have somewhere to leave the really important things, pictures ,china, and several bits of old family furniture which I could not part with.....but maybe I can find a smaller place and free up a little money to start with, without burning my boats completely lol !

Rose, you would become a minimalist.
after all.... how much could you carry all day??
Go do it, and enjoy it.

Ride in a Hot Air Balloon, Swim with Dolphins ( can't swim as only one usefull arm)

But the thing I would do if I could afford it would be a World Cruise.

Yes Deanna, always doing it, I hit the preview button instead of submit button ;)

I think if I was brave enough I would climb a mountain, never done it.

Yes Deanna Me! I have 'added' and then had it disappear!

Hi all, Sorry was just answering a PM re selling up and travelling lol
Seems I struck a chord with this, I am really beginning to think about it seriously...........?! Mind you if you saw the amount of 'stuff' I have, you would know I am not a minimalist who could live out of a suitcase.....or could I? lol

I have been to france, Austria, Germany and los angeles on holidays in the past but nowhere except Chester and London for a few days in the last 15 years! Would love to go to Ireland but would want to have quite a lot of time there not just a quick trip................

Must get on with the decorating when my neck is better and get a valuation!
My mum's favourite song was "I was born under a wandering star"! lol I am getting more like her as I get older !

If you want to do something you must take the plunge dont do as I did and let it go by.
I have tried to encourage my children to follow thier dreams and happy to say that they have.
Daughter went of to NZ and had the best time and has a lot of photos to keep.
1 son had taken up rally driving and is away this weekend following his dream.
2 son joined to army and followed his dream.

This is the third time this has happened to me.

I added to this thread a minute ago, and it is not here!

I said..... something like!

bungee jump, I would never do that I can barely stand on a stool.

Have any of you ever added to a thread and found it not added?

Oh now I'd love to do that. I love watching storms here, but to see a tornado would be something else.

Mind you, the devastation after would be another matter.

Rose,

Travelled a hell of a lot before the children arrived. When I got well past 50 we decided to 'live life' and not miss any opportunities. Life isn't a rehearsal, if you are young enough to start again (which you are) GO FOR IT!!!

Love

Hi Rose - haven't seen you for days!
I have travelled (USA several times, France & in 2000 NZ which was my last 2-wk hol) since then apart from trip organised by my daughter for me to go to Prague for 4 days in 2006 only odd days here and there.
Circumstances change so you have to do what you can when you can! Jx
