Rose, you would become a minimalist.

Go do it, and enjoy it.

Deanna, am getting to the age where I realise that 'memories' of people are in my head not in 'items' so I am clearing out lots of bits and bobs.....would need to have somewhere to leave the really important things, pictures ,china, and several bits of old family furniture which I could not part with.....but maybe I can find a smaller place and free up a little money to start with, without burning my boats completely lol !

Rose, you are braver than you think!

Just do it. Life can be short, so fill it with good times!

Yeah...sorry Rose...I pressed submit but I didn't think it had been added - so submitted again!!! Deleted now.

But as you may know I was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and all the things I most feared from the treatment I have had to face head on. I'm now having chemotherapy, and I have found out I am braver than I ever thought I was!

Go for it and follow your dream. When I am over this, I want to do the same..sell the house and use the money to have some enjoyment out of the rest of my life!

Not sure OH agrees though!

Dee I do hope your OH can be persuaded lol ! You deserve to enjoy yourself.

A friend of mine is always saying lately that she must move to somewhere 'convenient' and 'suitable' for her old age....she is only 61 and it makes me flinch to hear her talking as if it is 'all over' bar the shouting! I don't want to get like that yet!

Hi Rose. I'd want to sell everything we own and travel Britain in a gypsy wagon. And I would lol, but my husbands the sensible one!

Rose,
my nephew went to Aus' in january and is doing really well there, has a guaranteed job for 4 years if he wants to stay and as he went out to be with his Aussie girlfriend ,if that works out I think he will stay.
which is sad for his parents who miss him but can't say I blame him, though personally I have never been interested in going there.

Go for it Rose - I Rented out my place in London/Kent in London three years ago and rented a house in the West Country with no new Job lined up ..... The first six months were hard but three years on I have bought the House I rented - have a fab job - less hours - more time for freinds and less for work and am currently in the process of selling my old home to rent out another up here. It was a huge leap of faith but paid me back treble in happiness and peace of mind.... Go for it .
