No you didn't misread that is perfectly correct. They can detect a death even if there was no blood spilled. I don't want to be too graphic so you'll pardon my reticence about not going into detail I hope..

Quite startling. Also G**gle Cadaver Dogs that's their official name. I won't go in to too many details on here cos some of the stuff is a bit Yuk xx

Well I would suggest that if someone has died a violent death, the smell of adrenaline and other hormones would be strong with or without the presence of fluids. Animals can smell fear..so I guess they can also determine a violent death from a natural one. I have heard of these sniffer dogs before...

Sniffer dogs are trained for certain things only,,a sniffer dog trained just for drugs is no use as a people tracker,,and a dog as used in finding people alive in a disaster is no use as a drugs dog, these dogs that are being used over there are not a new thing and have been used in other countires aswell as our own for some time,,,,,,

I have just watched the lunch time news and the spokeswoman has confirmed that the police are now looking into the POSSIBILITY that this is no longer a kidnapping. They are poking holes with metal rods in the Murat garden, which if there is a body buried there, the British dogs will pick up the scent. This whole business makes me sick to my stomach! Lindy :(

Kris Report 5 Aug 2007 10:48

Marion, it has been suggested that this is being done so that Robert Murat can be released as it were, once and for all from being a suspect

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 5 Aug 2007 10:13

Why have they taken so long to do it? You would think if he was a suspect they would have left no stone unturned. Marion

This is the bizarre thing !!! I have been all over the WWW tonight looking for more info. LOADS in the Portugese newspapers (have no idea about what's being shown on the TV obviously) about all different aspects of the case. BUT the only thing on Sky and other mainstream UK sites is about Murat and the search of his garden??? what's that all about ???????? xx.

Kris Report 4 Aug 2007 22:25

Lindy, have you heard of the journalists that wrote this article?? and is there nothing on tv about this : Sapo article Madeleine: PJ Suspense Filled Searches of Murat’s House, National Guard Remians at the Location 4 August 2007, 21:03 Praia da Luz, Faro, 04 Ago (Lusa) – The searches that took place today in Casa Liliana, where the British man Robert Murat, arguido in the Madeleine case lives, were suspended after almost 13 hours, as stated by Lusa. Four PJ inspectors, 2 British police officers and a cadaver dog left the site at 20:20. PJ inspectors approached 2 National Guard representatives at the entrance to the home and gave them instructions to stay on site. After this conversation the National Guard soldiers entered the garden, with a vehicle, where they stayed. Contacted by Lusa, Franciso Pagarete, RM’s lawyer says that the soldiers will stay in the property all night, upon the request of the PJ inspectors and with the consentment of the owners, so that the “night would be calm” and “within normality”, without making any further comment.. The spokesman explained that the searches that were carried out today were carried out with “great calm” and “within normality”, having had the cooperation of RM and his family for “clearing the case”. Francisco Pagarete said that he only knew about the PJ’s searches in Murat’s property this morning. “I was only told this morning, so I know absolutely nothing, I was never informed about any searches beforehand”, said the lawyer, emphasising that that he felt calm about his client’s situation and predicting that that “everything would be rapidly resolved” so that RM “can return to lead a normal life”. The searches carried out today will serve to confirm or not eventual clues found in the investigation of Madeleine’s disappearance, according to a source close to the investigation . Meanwhile, outside the Ocean Club, from where Madeleine appeared, there are now several private security guards, in contrast to the situation at the time of the disappearance. .
