Hi Teresa, An interesting reply from GR....... I have had to Log in each time and I have GR in my Favorites and always have had...I have never had to log in before untill about 2 weeks ago.

I'm in and out of here all day also. I use IE 7.0 and have GR as a favourite and an icon on my desktop. I never log in or out of most of my programmes, but then only me using computer. The only time I did have to log back into all of them was when I did a complete cookie clean up, to try and sort a problem. Usually I stick to a disc clean up. No probs that way.

Not had any problems at all (fingers x'd - tempting fate now lol), and I'm in and out on here many times a day. Using IE. Mary

If the above helps anyone with the logging in problem, then thats ok. Personally I don't think it will make a jot of difference. Joe, its all very well, but it's only in the last couple of weeks that any of us have had these problems, we never had to log in before anyway.

This could be an issue that is caused by your browser refusing to accept the per-session cookies the site needs to place on your computer whilst you are logged in. These cookies are harmless, and are deleted as soon as you leave the site. To resolve this problem you need to activate the per-session cookies feature within your web browsers Internet security section. If you wish to utilize the auto-login feature so you do not need to enter your username and password every time you visit the site you will also have to enable the stored cookies. If you were using the site previously without trouble this error could now be occurring if you have recently upgraded your web browser, or have changed your Internet security level settings. The following guide should be able to assist you: If you are using Internet Explorer 5.5 or earlier you should be able to change your cookie settings via the Internet Options icon in Control Panel you can find control panel under settings in your Start Menu. In Internet Options go to the Security tab, then select Custom Level. A window with a list of options and checkboxes next to the options will appear. Scroll down the list till you find Allow Cookies and change the settings. -Internet Explorer 6.0- The newest version of Internet Explorer 6.0 has advanced cookie management. In order to use this website you will need to adjust the Privacy Settings. If you go to the Internet Options icon in Control Panel (found through Start Menu, Settings, Control Panel). Then select the Privacy tab, you need to adjust the scroll bar to at least Medium, then apply and OK the settings. You should now be able to login and navigate without difficulty. You should log in then go to this Board and then make it Fav.

I'm having to log in but only on a random basis. I use IE7 Joe - I have GR in my favourites but still having to on occasion log in again Gwenda in Oz

I don't really know what to think about you lot, or are you pulling my leg ?? you must know what a browser is ............ and have you never heard of a Favourite - using the Fav you never have to sign in again.

Mine is random too - some days straight in, others have to sign in. Think I read on a thread somewhere when it first started happening a couple of weeks ago that it seemed to have started after the latest GR update (or whatever it is called!)

I don’t log out of GR, but sometimes during the last couple of weeks when I have been on FTF and have closed GR I do have to log in again with email addy and password even though the box is ticked ‘remember me’. I have just tried it again and have had to log in again. I use IE. Jxx

I use IE, I dont log out so i dont have to log in, I have BBC web site as a home page, and gen topics is a favourite, on that, Bob

I usually access genes via one of my 'contact' e mails. I don't have to log in, I have Mozilla firefox as a browser. ann Glos

Hi Teresa, don't want to talk anything up but I have had no problems, just respond to an email saying I have a message from whoever and I am in! Click on Community and then Gen Tops and I am away. Oh and I don't sign out.

I've sent a PM to feedback, and told them about this thread but it would be useful if you would also let them know about this via feedback. I doubt any action will be taken if its just me, even though you have all added to this LOL

Same here..never log out but when I click GR on favourites it has been logged out.It does howver remember my password.Has been happening over the last week...I use IE... Wanda..

That should be enough to convince GR that the problem is theirs, but please keep adding.. Thanks to those who have already done so.

I have to log in everytime now, have done for at least a week, and clicking remember me doesn't work as soon as i log out it forgets me *sulks* lol I use IE or y*hoo and is happening whichever I use Ann xx
