I know what she's going through Tina, had mine done a while ago. She'll be fine. There was a 94 year old in with me, she was fine after a few weeks.

thankyou everyone who has added to this. mum is recovering well. she had an epidural and was awake throughout the op which took about an hour! she feels so well, she is talking about wanting to come home tomorrow, i dont think so mum! she is on a pain killing drip at the moment which is why she feels so good, nurse says she wont be allowed to go to the loo tomorrow as yet. i was so suprised at how well she looked. thanks again for your support. tina x
