Why don't these people listen? I am really down and fed up today. The Dr said, urgent appointment, OK his view of urgent and the hospital is probably different. I stressed to him that I was away for four weeks from 2 September. OK he said, you will definitely get seen before then. so this morning I receive the appointment for Saturday 15 September at 4.15 pm. anybody spot the deliberate mistake? And it is Saturday and, although the appointment is for a Saturday the central booking office is not available at weekends. (This was not helped by the post office who took 2 days to deliver a first class letter on a journey I can do in half an hour by bus!) As we are also away for four weeks from 7th October and only home 29th Sept until then. I am so fed up with it all. OH says that before I saw the Dr I wasn't worried about it and I wasn't, but the fact that he was worried has now made me worried and I want to get it over with. OH did buy me a bunch of lovely white carnations to try and cheer me up, nice but not really working. Sorry to moan, I know there are people so much worse off and with so much more hanging over them. i suppose the weather isn't helping to lift me out of the gloom either. Ann glos |

I'm sure it will be ok Ann. It's understandable that you are worried and unfortunately nothing anyone can say will stop that. But, doctors have to be sure these days, as you can understand. Better safe than sorry. Take care Tina x |

Whatever it is Ann, I am sure your Doctor is being on the safe side......good for him.......it is always a worry when they state the urgency of something, you are bound to think the worst.....but try not to worry too much, as you say, it has been around for all this time, perhaps it is nothing at all to fret over.....good luck... |

Ann...........I bet your blood pressure has gone up now:)))) I suspect the doctor has made an urgent appointment as the waiting lists for dermatology clinics are very long...........my daughter waited 15 months for her appointment! Fingers crossed that all is well with you. x |

Margaret, it was when is aid it itched that he seemed more worried so i should get it checked out. My patch is 7cms x3cms but the two lumps are to one side. One is a soft lump that sometimes seems to have fluid in it the other is a small hard round 'lump' like a cyst that I had removed from my head two years ago. Ann Glos |

Sounds like Bowens disease. A type of skin cancer that will not actually harm you. you can have it years without problems. i see a lot of it in my job. If it is, its easily treated with liquid nirogen( Dry Ice) Best get it checked out though Good luck !! Chris |

I agree with Daff, Ann. If you have had it for over 10 years it's unlikely to be anything too nasty. xx |

thank you, the thing is I have never worried before because it originally appeared in about 1978 which is nearly thirty years. I have seen at least two doctors with it who were not worried but this one, new to me last year, seems to be very thorough and likes everything checked out properly. Refreshing nowadays but a bit scary when it is you he is checking on! Thanks for all your concern Ann glos |
