Because someone on here was very kind to me when I was depressed and she was upset that someone had called her MAD........so first I was Mad one's mate and then it became Maddies mate ................ Having been involved in Genealogy for over 35 years I once researched a family who were from Italy and settled in Liverpool in the early 1800s, there was a big reunion at a Hotel in Sefton Park in 1997 and hundreds of descendants came from all over the world. A photographer from the Liverpool Echo took a photo of them all, the lady who I did the research for and organized it all gave me the name 'Poirot' because of my detective skills ( her words ) not mine ! |

My board name came about during an hysterical evening where I requested help chosing a new name. *Big Muff* is the name of a Depeche Mode song (I am a huge fan) I believe it was suggested by Joan Of Archives and caused much hilarity. I changed it a bit to *Muffy* for obvious reasons !!! lol x |
