Right back to 1810 (which is as far back as Ive managed to get), my paternal side have lived in Bolton, my dad was the one to break away when he joined the army. He married a Yorkshire Lass, and we only ever went back for holidays every couple of years to stay with my grandparents. Dads mothers side hail from Leigh, Wigan and Coppul, so Im a pink rose, but if anyone ask's me where Im from I always say Bolton, saves long explanations. Maggie |

born in Hapton, near Burnley (Up the Clarets!!) till 16 then moved to Walkden, near Manchester. Mum's side come from Ancoats, then Hapton. Dad's side from Accrington(Simpsons & Kenyons) but g.gparents from Wensleydale, N Yorks. Now live in Scotland - but want to 'go home'. Bought a plot in Burnley Cemetery for when my time comes. Don't want to lie in the corner of some foreign field . |

Moved over the Pennines in 2001, to Morecambe, which is just in Lancashire, close to Cumbria. The countryside is great around here, close to the Lakes. Sunsets over the Bay are wonderful. The people are also friendly. Although sometimes I miss my Yorkshire friends and relatives. Pat |

I'm a Surrey/Essex girl but my Dad was born and bred in Fulwood, Preston. His father was born in Preston and everyone on his mother's side are from Croston and the surrounding villages going back to at least 1670. Do I qualify please? Daisy PS Tom Finney lived at the top of my Dad's road and used to kick a ball around with Dad and his friends! He still supports PNE. |
