Hi Jan I'm getting there! His name was Thomas Skelton. I discovered him when I stumbled accross his marriage in the parish registers for East Ayton/Seamer near Scarborough. Unfortunately there was no father recorded on the entry making me think he may have been illegitimate. He can be found on the 1881 census with his wife Susanna (formerley Greenley) and their children. My American cousin did some digging around and found that they probably went to America in 1882 and Thomas gives his birth as July 1836. It seems that they settled in Iowa where a fair amount of my Greenley ancestors settled. Jeanette |

Hi Jan Totally off topic but I was talking to She a couple of weeks ago about a family of Skeltons I just discovered in my tree who were from Yorkshire and went to America. She mentioned that you have some Skeltons in your tree too and said I should contact you to see if there is a connection. Trouble is I've been away for a fortnight and now I've started typing this I've gone totally brain dead! lol. I'll get back to you in a bit when I've had a shuffle through my papers! Jeanette (having a peroxide blonde moment! lol) x |

For those of you with MSN, BEWARE! I got an invite from someone i didn't know (which i ignored), but when i was on MSN the other day they contacted me. Curious to know if any of you had changed screen name i answered and ended up with a VIRUS. The Spanish ****** put a trojan on my computer, this came in the form of a shopping program, they dial premium rate numbers. Its gone now, AVG put it up against a wall and executed it on my behalf. Best Wishes This has just been forwarded to me |
