The group Fathers-4-Justice who demonstrated at Buckingham Palace the other day are also campaigning on behalf of grandparents who have lost/been denied contact http://www.fathers-4-justice.org/ |

I cannot begin to imagine your pain and hurt. I'm a grandma myself and the mere thought of not seeing my grandson is unbearable. I hope you find out soon where he is and am able to see him. Thinking of you. Jo. |

My heart goes out to you all in this situation. We have experienced the good and the bad. I am very fortunate in as much as I have gained 2 beautiful grandsons. My son met a girl who had 2 lads and 4 years ago they decided to make a life together. My 'Daughter in law' (Calls me mum as both her parents have died within the last 2 years)was left by her husband when the baby was a few weeks old. The second father left when she was 5 months pregnant. Grandparents of the first boy live in the same village and do not even acknowledge his existence. His uncle lives 3 doors away and does the same. We haven't done much except love them, accept them as our own and treat them when we can. We have been told we are more like Grandparents to them than their real ones will ever be. I also have a Grandson that we know nothing of anymore. Serioulsy ill as a baby and in and out of hospital, his mum left my son for his best friend. To this day we do not know if he is still alive or not. One day I will find out. I hope you find your grandson. I cannot imagine having ever done that to my children or their grandparents. Good luck. Jacky |

I believe that Grandparents have some rights in the cases mentioned.Of course, the rights may be very limited but give it a try and go and consult a solicitor,it has got to be worth a try. |

The saddest thing that can happen after a divorce is for grandparents to loose contact with their grandchildren We are in this situation. My former daughter in law has moved from her former address and is making a new life, and I sincerely wish her every happiness. I understand her hurt and pain of the past, but why should my husband and I, WHO HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE EVENTS, WHY SHOULD WE BE PUNISHED FOR BEING MY SON'S PARENTS. Would some kind soul look up the Electoral Roll for Acle in Norfolk and find the address THEN we can continue to send birthday cards and gifts and he will know that we still love and care about him.I can supply information to anyone prepared to help. |
