I sent a message to a guy I think is a memeber of my family via GC. I have had this reply: Dear Gee You have received a request to view your family tree from Genes Reunited member ????? To give ?????permission to view your tree, see the surnames in ?????'s family or send a message to find out more, visit your contact centre on Genes Reunited Click here to review your tree permissions Kind Regards The Genes Reunited Team Obviously it wasn't ???? I have done this for discretion. It says to find out more visit the contact centre which is what I would like to do because obviously I don't want give permission just like that before I check a bit further....... But I can't seem to find out wher the contact centre is or how I do this Any ideas? G xxx |

Hi Gee I wonder if this person has given you permission to see his tree? Have a look in 'your contacts' on the left hand side of your screen, just above the aol advert. Heather |

Hi Gee, Presumably Mr ???? has used the tick boxes that GC now provides for automatically responding to a message rather than writing a reply. Perhaps, hopefully, he thought it would be a good idea to have a look at your tree but intends to write a proper response later - I'm ever the optimist :-) Or maybe he was like someone who responded to a message from me -she didn't read the labels on the tick boxes and thought she was just acknowledging she'd received my message! I don't blame you for being reluctant to allow access at this stage. Why not send him a second message explaining that you'd rather delay opening your tree until you are sure there is a connection, or perhaps asking some questions that would establish the link. |

yes - I have just sent a message saying that I hoped he would understand that I would like to be sure I have the right person before allowing him access and would he please send me some clues as I did him - Thanks Judith |
