I'm not a footie fan at all, but I know that the world of football has lost a great character today. |

What a character! I rember seeing him being interviewed once and he said something like, " . . . we all get together and discuss to problem in detail, then we do what I want to do". There's no answer to that ! ! ! |

My all time favourite football manager. Wish he had managed Spurs. Should have been England manager. Remembered with much affection. Jean x. |

One of the game's great characters who talked a lot of sense. (Gemma, he was only at Leeds for six weeks - the players couldn't accept his form of discipline, so he resigned!) |

Until very recently Brian Clough would spend many hours sat in his son's newsagents shop in West Bridgford, Nottingham - passing the time of day with all the customers - a quip and a joke at the ready! He will be missed by everyone here in Nottingham, football fan or not, for the character he was - larger than life. Condolences to his family at their sad loss. Jacqui |

Proud to have been born in the same town as him - one of Middlesbrough's finest products - never mind the OBE (old big 'ed) he should have been knighted !!!! |

Hi louise yep I have that record, was actually in the trent end when the fans songs were recorded, can remember with the fondest of memories I great man, althro he was outspoken most of the time, he had the full respect of all his players, staff & the fans, not many men can say that they succeeded in clearing a pitch invasion singlehanded, he didnt suffer fools gladly. My heart goes out to his wife & family, I know how much losing someone so close can hurt, I lost my Grandma in June & still cry every day. Lets hope that the folk in power do something fitting for such a great man. R.I.P BRIAN. tHE WORLD OF FOOTIE HAS INDEED LOST ONE OF THE BEST. ps it was just 44 days at leeds, bet they're kicking themselves now along with the fa. |
