Does laminating affect newsprint?

I'd also be very interested to know if laminating would also affect photographs in the long run. I find it great to laminate the little family photos that I carry around in my purse, but would hate to ruin the old ones my dad's just given me.

Marion, many thanks for that website, it's really helpful. The answer is NO, DO NOT laminate photos! However, they do suggest making copies and laminating those - so that's what I'm going to do! Thanks again Marion, a really useful site. Mandy :)

I think it would Daniel, i laminated an old letter(when i didnt know any better) thinking it would save it forever, but the writing on one side shows up badly on the other a realy poor finish!. Theresa
